INTERNATIONAL - The militant group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has killed at least 49 members of the Syrian government forces.
Syrian Human Rights Monitoring Organization (SOHR) on Friday (09/12/2016) states, 49 members of the Syrian troops killed in battle for 24 hours near the historic town of Palmyra.
The news agency Agence France-Presse reported that the death toll was composed of 15 Syrian soldiers and allied fighters.
ISIS ambushed them on Friday morning near the oil fields Mahr, a few kilometers from Palmyra.
ISIS militants launched simultaneous attacks on several positions of Syrian troops in the eastern province of Homs on Thursday (08.12.2016), including areas near the oil fields and gas Mahr and Shaar.
