INTERNATIONAL - A Dutch court on Friday (12/09/2016), sentenced Geert Wilders, a member of parliament anti-Islam populist, guilty.

He proved to have been cast hate speech at the end of the trial which he labeled "politically motivated farce" that threatens freedom of speech.

Chief Judge Hendrik Steenhuis said, the court will not impose punishment for the guilty verdict was already a punishment enough for an MP elected democratically.

Prosecutors had asked the judge to impose a fine of 5,000 euros, or about USD 70.29 million, as reported by Voice of America. In a message on Twitter, Wilders called the verdict was "madness" 'and said that he had been punished by three judges who hates Freedom Party he leads.

Wilders was not in court when the decision came three months before national elections.

Wilders' party is currently slightly ahead in national polls and popularity has increased during the trial.

Even before the trial, Wilders promises not to let the verdict silence it.

He has denied the allegations and insisted he was doing his duty as political leaders to show problems in the community.
