In the study, researchers followed two groups of people who undergo eye surgery to 6 months. The first group consisted of 262 army personnel were still active and about 29 years old. The second group consists of 312 people whose ages averaged 32 years.
Each respondent was asked to complete a web-based survey about their vision before surgery, and several times thereafter. The survey included questions about how satisfied they are with the vision and whether there was interference with the eyes after LASIK.
