Apparently, not only at the location of the event, other Chinese flag was also installed at the local pier. Residents who were present protested and asked the Chinese flag was lowered.

After talks between the PT Wanatiara Persada with the security forces of the military-police, it was decided that the flag should be lowered.

According to the written statement of the Navy Office of Information RI, take down the flag at the location of the event held by security personnel Wanatiara PT Persada.

"While the flag fluttering in the dock, the decline has also served Sertu March Supreme Priyantoro so that the flag does not touch the ground. The process of decline in China's flag runs safely and smoothly," said Dispen Navy in a written statement received Liputan6.com, Saturday (26/11 / 2016).

In this incident, PT Persada confirms Wanatiara responsible and apologized for the incident.

North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba has yet to be contacted to request confirmation of the incident.
